Gulf Place Proudly Welcomes Four New Merchants

Dipity Do Dah Kids, Sara Lierly Art and Sunrise Coffee are now at Gulf Place.

Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. (July 28, 2014) - Gulf Place on 30A announces four new businesses that have recently opened in their town center. The Gulf Place community is pleased to have Dipity Do Dah Kids, Pilates by the Sea, Sara Lierly Art and Sunrise Coffee join their thriving marketplace.

Dipity Do Dah Kids is a chic children's boutique filled with fun, interesting, and affordable gifts and clothing. The family owned operation is the creation of Vicki Jones and daughter-in-law Samantha Jones, both born and raised in Alabama. The two entrepreneurs already run a women’s boutique in Birmingham, but jumped at the opportunity to open a children’s store along Scenic Highway 30A after having vacationed along the Gulf Coast for years. The quaint sized boutique caters to all age children and will eventually offer arts and crafts events featuring local artists. Jones explains, “We look forward to meeting all the local families and making new friends. We also strive to be a family vacation tradition for all the tourists throughout the season”.

Laurie Beck’s interest in Pilates came at the expense of a debilitating car accident. Beck found relief from her neck, shoulder and back pain in Pilates, a training method developed by Joseph Pilates. Laurie admits to feeling incredibly grateful to be able to work with a variety of clients who range from being incredibly fit to those with extreme limitations. Pilates by the Sea is a comprehensive wellness and Pilates studio that also offers mat and barre classes, Reiki and stretching cardio jump classes.

Sara Lierly has lived in Florida for over 10 years, but finally settled in Destin in 2007 where she first began painting in 2008. Sara admits she stumbled upon her artistic talents during the recession where she was commissioned to paint a mural by a local restaurant owner who promised to pay in pizza slices. Sara continued with sporadic art jobs until 2011 where a series of profound life events merged to produce the perfect storm of inspiration within her and she has not stopped since. “I am really only a tiny vessel in the channel of creativity which flows through each of us infinitely.  I do not try to create… I simply allow that which has already been created to travel outside of me,” explains Lierly. Although Sara’s new location in the Artists at Gulf Place colony is her first dedicated permanent space she has been doing shows throughout our area including Art in the Park in Watercolor and ArtsQuest where she won an Award of Merit. Sara’s passion for life and art make her a perfect fit to join the fun and eclectic Artists at Gulf Place.

Started by Brad & Jenny McDowell along with business partner Boo Freeman, Sunrise Coffee Co. is the lifestyle brand of Sunrise Chair Co., a local beach chair and umbrella manufacturer. The family friendly café offers breakfast, lunch, ice cream and pastries to name a few. The casual laid-back beach vibe has quickly made Sunrise Coffee Co. a place where locals meet and visitors feel at home.
